The Rocking Horse Nursery -- Here we are — the nursery was completely renovated in 2016 and our opening hours are: 7:30am - 6:15pm. [updated: Wed 13 Apr 2022]

Time to explore -- Exploring, digging, pushing, moulding and learning by playing in the sand, using the magnifier to investigate. [updated: Wed 13 Apr 2022]

Exploring different terrain -- Tweenies explore the world of dinosaurs... triceratops and brachiosaurus in amongst the lego and fir. [updated: Tue 12 Apr 2022]

The Burrow -- We have two pre-school groups, Preschool & Burrow, who work separately in the mornings and come together for activities later in the day. [updated: Tue 12 Apr 2022]

Playtime with pegs -- Get those little fingers working and making their own designs with these white boards and pegs of different colours. [updated: Tue 12 Apr 2022]

More exploring -- All kinds of cars and trucks, with little people to create their own scenes. Larger trucks to use their imagination as they play. [updated: Tue 12 Apr 2022]

Our baby room -- Over the months everyone learns to play, practice reaching for toys, rolling on the floor, sitting up, getting onto all fours, crawling, pulling themselves up, staggering around the furniture and finally walking. [updated: Tue 12 Apr 2022]

Our commitment to you and your child

The Rocking Horse Nursery has been part of the community of Greenisland since 1992. In 2006 we opened a separate after school house called The Play Station.

We encourage prospective parents to make an appointment to have a good look round the nursery. We are delighted when a family chooses to let us be a part of their family life and we know the great trust that is needed to be happy in leaving their little one with us.

We value the strong relationships we have with our families. Parents can pop in for a private chat at any time.

It is important that we provide every child with a warm, secure caring and nurturing environment in which they will grow up to become happy and confident young people in their own right.

To ensure the smooth running of the nursery, we always have a manager from 7.30am right through the day, as well as our staff team of supervisors and assistants.
